Carb cap types explained (bubble, directional, spinner)

A carb cap is a small lid for your hot banger. Without one, vapor escapes and you need higher temperatures; with one, airflow slows down and your concentrate vaporizes fully at lower, tastier temperatures.

Bubble cap A round ball with a hollow stem. You tilt and roll it on the banger rim to push the air (and the puddle of concentrate) around by hand. Simple, forgiving, works with almost any bucket — the classic starter cap.

Directional cap Has an angled air channel that shoots a jet of air across the bucket floor. You steer the stream with a slight twist. Same idea as the bubble cap, with more precise control over where the air hits.

Spinner cap (vortex cap) Angled holes create a vortex that spins terp pearls around the bucket automatically. The pearls spread heat and concentrate evenly — the most "hands-free" option, but it needs pearls and a bucket diameter the cap fits.

Fit matters most Whatever the type: the cap must cover your bucket's opening. Check your banger's bucket diameter (commonly 20–25mm) against the cap's diameter — both are listed on our product pages, and the setup builder checks the match for you.

Material Almost all caps are borosilicate glass or quartz. Both handle the heat; quartz matches quartz bangers for purists, borosilicate allows more elaborate shapes.
