What are terp pearls and how do they work?

Terp pearls (also called dab pearls or banger beads) are small balls — usually quartz, commonly 4–6mm — that you drop into your banger before heating.

What they do When air spins through the bucket (with a spinner cap, or by moving a bubble cap), the pearls spin with it. As they roll they do two jobs:

  • Spread heat — the hot pearls store heat and pass it to the concentrate continuously, so the puddle vaporizes evenly instead of burning at one hot spot.
  • Spread the concentrate — rolling pearls smear the puddle into a thin, fast-vaporizing film.

The result: fuller vapor at lower temperatures, which means better flavor.

What you need - A bucket-style banger or slurper (pearls do nothing in most nails) - Ideally a spinner/vortex carb cap — it makes the pearls spin on their own - Pearls in a size that suits your bucket: commonly 4–6mm for standard buckets

Care Pearls are small, hot and roll away easily. Let everything cool before handling, and clean them together with your banger (see the cleaning guide). Quartz pearls can cloud over time — that's normal wear, not dirt.
