Terp slurper vs. standard bucket banger

Both are quartz bangers you heat with a torch — the difference is where the concentrate goes and how the air moves.

Standard bucket banger One open cup. You heat the bucket, drop the dab in, cap it, inhale. Simple, forgiving, easy to clean, and every cap style works. The right choice for most people — especially starters.

Terp slurper Three parts: a bottom dish, a narrow middle section with slits, and the barrel on top. You place the dab on the dish (or drop it through the top); when you inhale, air pulls the concentrate UP through the slits into the hot barrel. The concentrate travels through more hot quartz and keeps moving — that's the whole point.

What that means in practice - Flavor at low temps — slurpers shine at lower temperatures: more hot surface contact, nothing sits still and burns. - Efficiency — very little residue is left behind when technique and cap match. - More technique — dish temperature, cap seal and draw speed matter more than with a bucket. - More cleaning — the slits and dish need regular swabbing to stay open (see cleaning).

Which one for you? Starting out or want simple and robust: bucket banger. Chasing low-temp flavor and don't mind the extra care: slurper. Both fit the same joints — sizes, gender and angle work identically, and our builder checks compatibility for both.
