Torch vs. electronic heating — which is right for you?

Two ways to get your banger to temperature. Neither is "better" — they suit different people.

Butane torch (the classic) A refillable jet flame heats the banger directly. Cheap to start, works anywhere, no electricity — and part of the ritual for many. You control temperature indirectly: heating time plus a cooldown wait (or an IR thermometer for precision).

  • Pros: low entry cost, portable, heats any banger, simple
  • Cons: open flame (see safety basics), butane refills, temperature by feel/timer, not subtle indoors

Electronic (e-rig / e-nail) A coil or chamber heats to a set temperature and holds it. No flame, no guessing — press a button, wait, dab.

  • Pros: exact repeatable temps, no flame, fast sessions, discreet-ish
  • Cons: much higher entry cost, needs power/battery, more parts that can fail

Which one? - Budget, outdoor use, ritual lovers → torch - Daily use, consistency chasers, flame-free homes → electronic - Many people end up with both: torch for the ritual, electronic for weekday convenience.

Whatever heats your banger, the rest of the setup stays the same — sizes and compatibility don't change. Browse heat sources and temperature tools.
